Change

Starts With You

Why coaching?

The “Please be Patient Student Driver” stickers on backs of cars are funny to me. This likely mortifies a teenager, people forget the sticker is on their car, and what are other drivers supposed to do anyway?

However, the message of patience is one we all need to hear. We are all imperfectly human - a work in progress. So yes, Please be Patient - Student Life-er.

I think it helps to know what coaching is not. It is not therapy, and coaches are not medically trained. A coach is someone who has spent a significant amount of time and effort traveling the same journey you would like to travel. He or she is a little further down the path and therefore shines a light,

encourages you on your way, runs beside you, and listens… alot.

My job as a coach is to work with you and help you cross the bridge to a better place.

What is “This Naked Mind”?

This Naked Mind was founded by Annie Grace in 2015. TNM is a science-based, compassion-led approach to behavior change. As a Certified TNM Coach, I follow a very strategic plan targeted at freedom from unwanted behaviors.

I like to summarize it by:

You CAN actually teach an old dog new tricks.

What is Affective Liminal Psychology?

This Naked Mind is fueled by ALP (Affective Liminal Psychology) which is the science of the system of self. As human beings we have both conscious and unconscious thought. Some of our thoughts or beliefs feel like invisible forces that push us around and affect our emotions and resulting behaviors. Just because we do not see these forces does not mean we are powerless.

We have to power to change. The evidence is neuroplasticity, or the brain's capacity to continue changing and evolving in response to life experiences by creating new neurons and building new networks.
